[ it..

it makes sense, of course it does. it's not that she doesn't know about these things, from the network announcements and general experiences, so sirius' statement isn't exactly all that out there. it's perfectly logical, in fact. octavia had looked for lincoln, even though she'd known it was unlikely for him to be here too.

but it's a perfect replica of him, and even as she processes what sirius is saying her eyes are still drifting to the rage-filled, twisted creature that her boyfriend had been twisted into. it just looks so much like him.

she hears the finger snap and shakes her head though, short and sharp as if trying to clear her mind somewhat.

Think of something funny? [ call her skeptical, but that doesn't exactly sound like a plan. not like she's about to go swinging her machete out in the boggarts face, but even so. ] How the hell is that supposed to do anything?

[ oh my god sirius you can't just 'it's magic' as though that explains everything.

she's confused, distressed, and the last thing she wants to do is start laughing. it doesn't make sense, not for someone who knows space ships and guns, technology and mutations - not magic and all that entails. still, this is his area of expertise it seems, and as skeptical as she feels it's not like octavia has anything solid to offer here.

the act of making the ice appear at not-lincoln's feet might have been fascinating in any other situation - and honestly, she'll be asking more about all this at a later date - but here and now it's just absurd. maybe it doesn't have quite as much of an effect as desired, but when the creature goes up and over she can't help the confused, short burst of laughter that's far more nervous than anything else.

This is going to work?
