[She's sitting just inside her room, the door barely open, enough for her to look out peek to see if anyone is coming. When she sees him, she opens the door - she doesn't want him looking in her room, not the state it's in, because she's opened several pillows, there are feathers everywhere, and the math written on the paper she puts on the walls has gotten frantic. It's a clear sign something is wrong, and she's determined not to let anyone who isn't Castiel (who doesn't know the difference) see it.
(The something wrong: Castiel tried to kill her, Lucifer had to save her, and the loss of something steady, the terror that it may happen again, but no, it's all unfair to pile on any given person, and so she doesn't.)]
[Sirius stops just short of the door, as Sera ducks out into the corridor with him. He wants to be more brusque about this, like maybe he's doing his duty as a SEC officer than any personal favours.
It's difficult to hold that resolve when he sees her. He gives her a quick once over, and then looks away, shrugs his shoulders without taking his hands from his pockets.]
[He shrugs, without taking his hands from his pockets. When she writes, he thinks of her finger language, the shape of her hands in the air instead of wrapped tight around a bit of chalk.]
[ No, nothing so simple. She looks down, her hair falling over her face for a moment. She could have talked to anyone, but she talked to him, because she misses him, she misses his shape in her presence. She leans a moment, just a tiny bit, like she wants to move closer, but she doesn't .]
I didn't think you would offer in the first place.
[He shrugs yet again. Gripping conversation, but whatever.]
Despite everything that happened, I'm not interested in seeing you get killed. I'd hope you'd know me a little better than that by now. But maybe you don't.
[Except he is totally being kind of a dick but whatever.]
Who else am I going to send, anyways? Everyone's running around like bloody lunatics, and those that aren't are a bit too busy to waste time walking you to a music room. So you've got me. You're welcome.
[Her eyes narrow, and she looks angry, now, something she has never leveled at Sirius before. It's about as intimidating as a kitten, to be honest. She moves past him a bit.]
You are far cleverer than that. You know exactly how you're acting.
[She turns to look at him, and there is a quizzical look on her face, for a moment, why is he apologizing?]
I just wanted to talk to someone. I missed you.
[It's the honest truth. She missed him. She just wanted to talk to someone. It's hard to lose people, especially on board the ship, where there aren't that many people to lose in the first place.]
[She doesn't know what that's hard to believe, except that maybe if she were in Sirius' position, she wouldn't believe it either. So she forgives him that, that suspicion, and nods.]
I told him what I did. But I didn't ask him to talk to you, and he didn't tell me he was going to do it.
[Girls and their girl-friends, protecting each other. Sometimes younger brothers. Sirius doesn't look at Sera, just at her slate, and he keeps walking.
After a few moment's silence, he says:]
I didn't tell anyone, you know.
[Whether that's meant to be a condemnation or just a statement of fact, it's not clear from his tone.]
[His silence for the rest of the trip had gone quite sullen. Stood at the door, he reads the words, his hands shoved in his pockets. He looks away for a few moments, studying the floor, studying nothing.]
I can't stay.
[He doesn't add anything more, anything that would indicate that this is a yes or a no. It's just-- a statement.]
[Don't thank me, but he bites that back, somehow, and just stares at the floor with his hands shoved into his pockets. After a moment, he shrugs.]
Yeah. [And then, insufficiently:] See you.
[He turns like he's going to go, and he trails a ways off, but as slowly as he can manage, lingering. When she starts playing, he'll be there to listen--for a few moments, at least.]

C'mon, then.

It's strange.
So instead she writes.]
Thank you. For coming to get me.

What--did you really think I was going to refuse?

Don't be a dick, Sirius. I know you wouldn't let me die. It doesn't mean that I didn't think you wouldn't find someone else to do it in your stead.

So what?
[He doesn't try to catch up with her, but keeps his pace.]
What d'you want? An apology? I'm sorry. You're welcome for helping you, but I'm sorry, too.

Why don't you talk to your mate the angel? He told me that all of this was his fault, by the way.
no subject
Castiel likes to think I'm faultless, but I know better.
no subject
So, what. He just decided to come and have a chat, all on his own?
no subject
I told him what I did. But I didn't ask him to talk to you, and he didn't tell me he was going to do it.

I never thought you would.
I never thought-
You deserve better.
no subject
Don't.
[It comes out like a order, short and terse.]
no subject
Instead the arrive at the door, and she fiddles with her chalk for a moment.]
If you want to stay and listen, you can. I won't try and have any more of a conversation with you.
no subject
I can't stay.
